Recipe: Spicy Ziegler Red Hot Sausage & Peppers

Ingredients:

  • 1 package Ziegler Red Hots Sausage (sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 red bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1 green bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1 small onion (sliced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
  • 4 hoagie rolls (for serving)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Sausage – Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced Ziegler Sausage and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
  2. Sauté the Peppers & Onions – In the same skillet, add bell peppers, onion, and garlic. Cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  3. Add Seasonings – Stir in black pepper, red pepper flakes, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Mix well.
  4. Combine & Serve – Return the sausage to the skillet, stir everything together, and cook for 2 more minutes. Serve in hoagie rolls for a spicy sandwich or enjoy as a main dish.
